What It Means to Follow Jesus

This whole story starts with God. He created everything with beauty, order, and purpose—and that includes you. You were made to know Him, walk with Him, and live in the world the way it was meant to be. God’s design was never chaos or confusion. It was peace, joy, and wholeness in His presence.

The Problem Beneath the Surface

But something broke. Humanity chose autonomy over intimacy—we rejected God’s design and tried to define good and evil for ourselves. The Bible calls this sin. And sin always leads to brokenness. We feel it in guilt, shame, fear, anger, and loneliness. We try to fix it with more effort, distraction, or pretending everything’s fine—but nothing we do can put the pieces back together.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3v23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 6v23

God Didn’t Walk Away

God could have left us in our mess—but He didn’t. He stepped in. Jesus, God in the flesh, entered the story. He lived the life we couldn’t live, died the death we deserved, and rose from the dead, offering us a whole new kind of life.
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5v8

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10v9
When we turn from our sin and trust in Jesus, we’re forgiven, rescued, and brought back into relationship with God. We begin to recover and pursue His design again—not alone, but with Him.

The Call to Follow

Jesus didn’t just call people to believe ideas. He called people to follow Him. That means giving Him your “yes”—letting go of control and learning to live in His way, every day.
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” — Luke 9v23
Following Jesus isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being honest—surrendering your old life and letting Him shape something new in you through His Spirit.

Baptism: A New Beginning

If you’ve trusted Jesus, your next step is baptism. It doesn’t save you—Jesus does. But baptism is a public way of saying, “I belong to Him now.” It’s a picture of dying to your old life and being raised into a new one.
“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.” — Acts 2v38

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” — Matthew 28v19
We regularly celebrate baptisms, and we’d love to help you take that step.

Still Wrestling? That’s Okay.

Maybe you’re unsure. Maybe you’ve got doubts or questions. That’s not a bad thing. God is big enough for your questions, and so are we. Whether you’ve grown up around church or you’re brand new to all of this, you don’t have to figure it out alone. We’d love to have a conversation—no pressure, no expectations. Just space to be honest and take a step forward. Let’s walk this together.
